About the adventure
The Lost Mine of Phandelver from the Dungeons & Dragons Starter is the perfect introduction to the world’s greatest roleplaying game. Journey to the Forgotten Realms to the town of Phandelver and rediscover the ancient mine lost thousands of years ago. With tons of options from all of Wizards of the Coasts publications and several of my homebrewed and 3rd party options, you'll be able to dive into this adventure with anything you could imagine. Going even further, we'll work together to weave your character into the story to round out your Dungeons and Dragons experience.

About me
I am in my mid-30s, married, father of two. I enjoy watching actual play shows like Critical Role, Dimension 20, and TableTopNotch. I live in Florida putting me in the EST time zone. During the week, I travel around the country for work. DM of 7+ years. I learned on Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. Soon after started running my own games. The majority of my games as a DM have been in an online format since COVID-19. It has continued for convenience and the pool of players is much larger online. With my games, I strive to balance roleplay, combat, exploration, and puzzles. Some sessions may be heavy on one or two aspects but over a campaign, have a decent balance. For my in-person games, I enjoyed making props while able. Creating digital versions, while possible, is not as satisfying but can still be very fun! In-person games may be available. Creating your character
Character creation will be done during session 0. Rolling stats, building character sheets, finding desired character art. We will also share small snippets of info about each other characters. Only basic details. We can also work in any characters that may know each other. Siblings, traveling companions, from the same village, etc. Once this is done, we'll look at the functionality of Roll20 for those who are newer to it and make sure everyone has access where they should.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Each player will need a functioning webcam, microphone, and speakers. Preferably a working headset with a microphone. This will cut down the potential for the 'echo' effect. Each player will need an account (free) on Roll20.net and optionally on dndbeyond.com Each player will need to download and create a Discord account for voice and video chat. Each player will need to provide an email address. This will be for initial welcome messages and surveys after the campaign concludes. For players under the age of 18, please have your parent or guardian reach out before joining the game. Parents and guardians are welcome to sit in and listen during all game sessions. Including session 0.

How Alec creates a safe table
Content warnings are attributed to the module itself. Taking into account the example of 'Animal Death', there may be scenes of hunters killing prey but not to the extreme of killing an animal for the sake of killing. Each of those warnings should have those considerations. Roll20 has a built-in deck of cards similar to the X, N, O safety cards. Those will be enabled.
