Maybe you want these things too, or maybe you just don't have any better options. This adventure will send you crawling through the murky tunnels of the city of Sharn while navigating the schemes of the metropolis' upper class. About me

Hello Everyone! Matt here! Folks across the internet may know me as SquidBaron, and I’m here to share my love of Role-Playing Games with people around the world by guiding players in amazing games. In addition to being a GM, I’m also a Game Designer who has worked with publishers such as Legendary Games, Drop Dead Studios, Splinterverse games, and many more. I love exploring the nuances of both mechanics and story, bringing them together in meticulously-crafted adventures tailored to the unique passions of my players. My backgrounds in economics, film, theater, and game design all contribute to my distinct style. In addition to writing and publishing the 11-book Arcforge setting for Pathfinder 1st Edition, I’m well-versed in the many worlds that gamers know and love. I have published books set in the Planescape, Dragonlance, City of 7 Seraphs, and Lost Omens settings and am intimately familiar with other settings such as Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Theros, Star Wars, and even older worlds such as Greyhawk, Birthright, and Dark Sun. More importantly, I know how to adapt a world to the style and system that my playgroup is hungry for. I’m eager to share my love of Role-Playing Games with players new and old and even more eager to see what you all bring to my table. Come as you are and share with me all of your questions, your aspirations, and your what-ifs.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place during session 0, during which players will also receive a brief explanation of the Eberron setting and the elements relevant to this adventure. Players who are familiar with Eberron are welcome to bring 1st-level characters in advance with the understanding that they require approval. Pregenerated characters will be provided to players who cannot or don't wish to make their own.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a mic, a Discord account, and access to Foundry VTT (either through its app or the website). Players should be expected to understand D&D 5e's mechanics to a point where they can operate a 1st-level character without too much assistance. Character creation ahead of Session 0 is an option, but such characters are subject to DM approval.

What Matt Daley brings to the table

I bring a Foundry VTT subscription that you as players are able to use for my game. I will make use of maps, tokens, and visual aids supplied from my collection of classic Eberron materials. I will be supplying a number of pregenerated characters for player use but will permit players to create their own characters as well. For experience, I bring 11 years of DMing experience and 2 years of voice acting experience to the scenarios and characters I create. My games tend to emphasize tactical combat and cleave more towards Rules as Written so as to reward players for their strategy and knowledge. You can expect detailed plots, many levels of intrigue, and detailed and distinct set pieces for combat encounters.

Safety

How Matt Daley creates a safe table

Lines and Veils will be discussed during Session 0 in order to gather shared expectations of the party and ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding the adventure's subject matters. X, N, & O cards should be sent to the DM or to the group as digital messages to best ensure they are accounted for. 15 to 30 minutes of Debriefing will take place after every session to ensure that players remain comfortable and informed about upcoming events.
