It begins today ... but something is wrong... Where is everyone? A new generation of settlers from Earth embarks on a 10-year voyage to the Halcyon System. The year is 2360, and The Amendment is now en route to Terra 2. However, an error occurs during the colony ship's flight, and now three thousand passengers onboard drift alone in space, still in cryosleep. The Setting In this alternate future, Leon Czolgosz fails to assassinate the U.S. President, William McKinley in 1901, resulting in a butterfly effect that leads to an entirely different universe. Theodore Roosevelt never succeeds McKinley, and does not break up the great business trusts of the era. This leads to a hyper-corporate, class-centric society dominated by the power of megacorporations, which, by the distant future, have begun to colonize space and terraform alien planets to varying results. Hundreds of Earth residents, lured by the promise of a fresh start, sign up for the chance to travel to this new frontier. Among them is Halcyon, a small, six-planet star system. A group of CEOs from each of Halcyon's founding companies forms The Halcyon Holdings Board of Directors. Under the leadership of Chairman Rockwell, the Board institutes policy and law throughout the Halcyon colony. Traveling to Halcyon requires both the usage of advanced spacecraft with a faster-than-light "skip-drive," and a ten-year cryosleep for the colonists, which exactly is where our adventure begins - during a cold sleep in space.
