About the adventure
This game is for those who crave a dark and immersive experience, where there is no right answer, only RAGE. You'll delve into the lives of your characters, grappling with their inner struggles as they navigate the werewolves' fracturing society and try their best to save the world. Expect a blend of visceral combat, tense social interactions, and awe-inspiring journeys into the spirit world. Shape the story with your choices and discover the hidden corners of the Oregon Coast. The corrupt and evil megacorporation Pentex spreads its tendrils throughout the Northwest, and Werewolves are the last line of defense. Will you answer the call of the wild and stand against the encroaching darkness?

About me
Hi there! I'm a unique kind of DM, focused on providing a fun and engaging experience with an emphasis on roleplaying in an open and unique world. There are stories and quests wherever you look, so don't be afraid to wander off the beaten path. My tone is best described as comedic cosmic horror. "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" meets "Welcome to Nightvale", or sort of like if "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" was played by HP Lovecraft, Stephen King, and David Wong. I play fast and loose with a lot of tropes and genres, mixing and matching whatever works. As an example: Think gnomes – those cute little tinkerers? Well, in my world, they speak a language called Gibberish, have gasoline for blood, and worship horrifying entities from beyond reality. Expect the unexpected! I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons since AD&D when I was ten, drawing cool swords and making up stories, but I've been the main DM for my community for the last 15 years. I've run D&D 3.5, 4e, 5e, Mutants and Masterminds, Continuum: Roleplaying in the Yet, JAGS Wonderland, the Serenity RPG, and an extensive amount of World of Darkness (VtM, WtA, WtO, DtF, HtR, and a smidge of MtA). As a disabled individual, I've had the opportunity to spend more hours on this hobby than is strictly reasonable, and both myself and my players have enjoyed every minute of it.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will be handled during Session 0, as well as collectively building your primary quest-giving NPC (known as your Patron). Beginner players will start as newly-changed werewolves, allowed to either create one of your own during Session Zero or choose one of the pre-made Origin Characters. Experienced players will be permitted to begin the game as werewolves that have been around a few years, provided they are willing to take responsibility for their younger charges. All published W20 content is available for use, but I will ask for details on the source if it's outside the core rulebook.
The year is 1998. The rugged Oregon Coast, shrouded in mist and mystery, is a battleground in the World of Darkness. Ancient forests, crashing waves, and shadowy towns hide a secret war between werewolves and the encroaching corruption of the evil megacorporation Pentex. Game Themes: Protecting the Land: Stand against Pentex and other threats to the environment. Investigate pollution, sabotage operations, and rally communities to defend Gaia. Track down and destroy Banes, fomori, and other creatures twisted by Pentex's corrupting influence and horrifying experiments. Cleanse corrupted spirits and restore balance to the land. Real Local Mysteries: Investigate actual local legends and uncover hidden truths. Discover the secrets of the Port Orford Meteorite, the Bandage Man, and the Devil's Lake Monster, with a World of Darkness twist. Character-Driven Conflict: Explore the personal struggles of werewolves as they balance their human and wolf natures, as well as balance their respect for human life with their respect for the natural world. The already loose bonds between the Werewolf Tribes are splintering in the modern day. It will be up to you to forge alliances with other tribes or navigate their conflicts. Come howl with us! Join our pack and fight for Gaia's survival on the Oregon Coast! Your legend begins here.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
#1: Have Discord and a microphone. I have a server for my games and I run games over voicechat. #2: Have some inspiration for who your character was and why they are in the PNW. Don't worry, we'll flesh it all out and I'll provide any materials that you need. #3: Be ready emotionally. Don't be too attached to your characters. While I'm not going to go out of my way to turn one of your beloved characters into chunky salsa, if you fuck around you -will- find out. Reading the rules will help but is not essential. I'm happy to do the heavy lifting and make the game as beginner-friendly as possible.
What Dizzie brings to the table
I post edited sessions on the Rose City at Twilight Youtube Channel! Players can revisit their favorite moments or show their friends! I clip out dead air, filler words, and any personal information. Various levels of anonymity are available, from fully anonymous dubbed-over-lines to fully credited with links in the description. My games are usually a heady mix of horror and comedy. Vampire in particular is intimate, personal, and gothpunk. Gothpunk? "What could a setting where Draculas control Amazon’s board of directors be, if not gothic? What is a setting where you can smash their faces in with a golf-club if not punk?" How shall I describe the plot? It's not quite a railroad, not quite a sandbox. Think of it like a fight on a moving train. With all of the century-old schemers pulling strings, there are overarching plots that will proceed with or without you. Depending on how their plots are going, the "scenery" will change as you go. As to your part in it all, that's up to you. Are you solving a murder? Are you starting a brawl in the bar car? Are you desperately trying to find the conductor about that cliff you can see looming out the window? I provide visual backdrops for locations, over 250 personalized character portraits for PC's and NPC's, and a moderately rules-lite experience where character mindsets and imagination play a large part of what is possible.

Safety
How Dizzie creates a safe table
Session 0 involves discussion of anonymity in recording, building characters, and collectively building a Patron: the party's prime NPC quest giver. During that process we will discuss lines and veils, as well as your expectations for the game. This is a game about Werewolves, so there will be blood, corpses, violence, and metaphorical manifestations of corporate greed and corruption. Anything beyond that, we can talk about it during Session 0 and I'll work with you. <3 My hard lines: No sexual assault involving Player Characters, no torture involving Player Characters. The NPC's may do those things to each other, but they will never occur or be referenced onscreen. Sessions are approximately 2.5-3 hours, with the first and last 15 minutes or so available for socializing and feedback.
