About the adventure
The Cult of the Dragon must be stopped! From the small, charming village of Greenest to blistering northern peaks, you will travel high and low throughout the Sword Coast battling your way through monsters and men in an effort to prevent the coming doom. At times you will meet the cult head-on in the field of battle, and at others you might engage in intrigue and espionage, making allies and enemies along the way. You will face dragons and monsters on a razor's edge, battling for nothing less than the fate of Faerun. The Cult of the Dragon will stop at nothing to revive Tiamat, the Queen of Evil Dragons, and free her from her hellish prison. The adventure is perfect for people who are playing D&D for the first time to learn more about its primary setting, or for those who want to interact with its world on a meaningful level. The world is fraught with both danger and opportunity, taking you to a number of adventure locations that leave you to freely interpret how to navigate them to the achievement of your goals.

About me
Yooooooo I have been a DM for close to a decade, but in a roundabout way it took me a few years to find D&D. I rolled with a group that was too cool to play something as 'mainstream' as D&D. Sad to think I spent so long fiddling around in vague things like FATE to appease them! Now I've been my own DM for about five years, running things like Pathfinder 1e and D&D 5e in campaigns both prewritten and homebrewn. I've learned a lot of lessons, made a lot of mistakes, and I think I've come out the other side, if not a great DM like my players tell me, then an experienced one. You deserve my time and attention, much as I expect the same from my players in return. So why charge? I really put everything I have into my campaigns. I care about not only making them as good as they can be, but trying to make them as fun as they can be for you. I'm usually amenable to discussion on making a story that works for all of us. I want to provide sessions that are fun both as a roleplaying experience as a game. For a time, I was in this for the love of the game and to make it economically viable for me to just spend more time doing what I already love doing. That hasn't changed, but as I found myself dedicating more and more of my time to it, picking up more and more groups, I decided that for now, it's my full-time job. It's something I invest a lot of time in that players don't 'see' before the session time. It's time spent crafting custom encounter maps, reviewing and rebuilding adventures and jury-rigging the complex interactions of the virtual tabletop to run as smoothly as I can imagine with automation and user-friendly interfaces that work for you. I care about delivering on that.

Creating your character
Characters will begin at first level. DNDBeyond support will be offered for creation, but character sheets will be updated natively in Foundry for a better experience. We will be discussing creation guidelines together in Session 0. I do not enforce party compositions, but players should try to be respectful of one another. I will teach you anything you need to know. All this talk about horror and the condition of the human soul aside, it's still a game, and we want to have fun. Additionally: Point buy determines ability scores Standard Starting Equipment Feats are allowed Official classes only
Currently Level 6, chasing after stories of a mysterious oracle and doing side quests.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I will provide everything but a reliable computer and internet browser. You will also need a mic and Discord. I am willing to teach rules from the ground up at Session 0.
What Prism DM brings to the table
Foundry VTT with a deep understanding of the powerful automations that keep games running at a brisk pace so that the action never slogs. I bring soundtracks tailored to the game experience, artwork crafted to supplement the adventure, copious research poured into enhancing the adventure in every reasonable way. I have a myriad of useful handouts and a detailed databank of journals to help you keep track of story, characters, and lore as the game progresses. I do perform character voices to the best of my ability, and I try to present combat in a tactically minded field that rewards creativity and intelligent thought within the bounds of the rules. Most of all, though, I want to bring you a fun time. Hope to see you, and DM me for more details!

How Prism DM creates a safe table
In Session 0 we will go over the rules and expectations of the campaign. I usually have a few house rules and addition rules from the DMG and other source books, but we will be light on those for the purpose of teaching new players. I am interested in characters with depth or dark secrets, but the campaign does need the party to be largely interested in doing good for goodness's sake. Any race canon to Faerun is allowed, just try not to play them for memes, as the narrative is serious. An evil tabaxi wizard named 'Itty Bitty Kitty' would not play well here.
