About the adventure

Are you new to Dungeons and Dragons, and do you want to learn how to play-by-doing, rather than by-reading? Then this session might be for you! In this oneshot session, I take you through the basics of Dungeons and Dragons, and let you practise what you learn! We'll go over at least the following topics: 📖 A little D&D History 📜 The Character Sheet 🌍 How to interact with the world 🎲 Dice rolls & how they work 🧩 Puzzles and riddles in D&D ⚔️ Combat training 🎬 A mini-mini adventure to put everything to practise You won't need to prepare anything! You can just hop in, learn about Dungeons and Dragons, and have fun while doing so! Any questions are ofcourse welcome; this session is made to give you a decent starting point to go and find your first D&D adventure!

How to prepare

A microphone will be a necessity, webcam is optional though I do prefer using them. I will use mine so I can convey my story to the players better. If you are uncomfortable with being on webcam, you do not have to! A headset is highly recommended. As far as table rules go, I will go over this in the session but we'll loosely approach them as we go, to help make this session approachable. You will only need a Chrome (or chromium-compatible) browser to run my oneshots, no additional software needed.

What I provide

I will bring an interactive session with maps designed by me! Great music, fitting artwork and an easy-to-use platform will help you get up to speed with D&D in no time!

Gameplay details

Before we play, I will invite you to my personal Discord, and share three short survey lists with you covering the lines and veils you might wish, as well as some player expectations so I can tailor the story to suit your needs and wishes.

How will character creation work

You will not have to bring anything other than a smile! :-) This session will have characters prepared for when we get in to the hands-on approach, which you can pick to practise with. Character creation / character sheets will be talked about though, but there's no need to prepare. If you however would like to prepare a character to compare or practise, feel free! Please limit this character to level 1.
