About the adventure
A court of vampires known as the Ruby Coven rules over the lands of Delar, a place ripe with unexplored wilds, a shrouded history, and your homelands. Will you rise up and defeat the Ruby coven, maybe you'll fend off some of the evils raising the quality of life in the lands, or perhaps the lure of power will grow too strong and you'll join the vampires. This is a D&D 5e game set in a homebrew setting which leaves plenty of room for backstory exploration and some world development on the player's part. I strive to facilitate a fun and dramatic story that is open to both new and experienced players.

About me
I love storytelling as an art form. I think there is so much we can learn about ourselves and our world through this medium and I love to encourage people to expand their creative storytelling side. I'm a huge fan of both high fantasy and dark fantasy genres. I've been playing TTRPGs for about 7 years and I'm a huge fan of bringing new people into the hobby every opportunity I get. I try to prioritize a fun experience for everyone at the table above all else.

Creating your character
I like to do character creation during session 0 so that everyone can be on the page, but I encourage my players to come with a basic concept or 2 (like "I want to be a paladin" or "I want to play an elven warrior"). Specific rules and content options will be talked about during session 0
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Software: D&DBeyond Account, Discord Account, Access to FoundryVTT in a browser Hardware: A microphone so that you can be heard, a stable internet connection. A webcam for video is nice but not necessary
What Chris Ascough brings to the table
I have all the sourcebooks and some of the adventures on D&Dbeyond with a master tier subscription where I will share all the content. I heavily emphasize roleplay in my games, and I love to run combat. I hold the rules in respect but have no problem breaking/homebrewing them as the game/story needs. I try to do some character voices but I'm not great at them, I do try to make clear who is talking when interacting with NPC's. I also use atmospheric music through a web-based app. Each player will have their own personal volume control.

How Chris Ascough creates a safe table
I run a free session 0 to go over the world and like to do character creation together during that time. I will discuss themes of the campaign and allow for players to discuss their ideas and feelings about the game as well. I will send out a link to my session 0 form which includes lines and veils. I am a strong proponent of an open table, if someone needs to step away for a time for any reason I want them to feel comfortable doing so. I am always open to conversation after the game to discuss the game.
