Princes of the Apocalypse | An Adventure in 4 Elements | @Lvl 10
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Water. Earth. Air. Fire. Long ago... No, no, that isn't this story. Ours is a tale of chaos, of a struggle for power, of an unending thirst for destruction. The Elemental Evil has always slowly been seeping into the threads of all realities, and it has, unfortunately, arrived at the chimney of Faerûn: the unassuming region of Sumber Hills. __________________________________________________________________________ Welcome to Princes of the Apocalypse (or: If A:tLA Were Grimdark)! This adventure begins at level 3, and can progress all the way until level 20! This table is open to anyone who: wants to learn to play DnD, enjoys roleplaying, wants to make friends, enjoys a good thrill/horror sequence, or any combination of these! We will have combats, and they will be challenging, but rest assured that there will be a balance betwixt the aspects of the game!

Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Teacher
I’ve been lucky enough to land in his Curse of Strahd campaign, and it’s been nothing short of incredible. From the very first session, it was clear how much care and effort he puts into creating a space that’s immersive, challenging, and full of opportunities for characters to pursue whatever random thing they think of. He always makes sure every player feels seen and involved. Whether you’re a veteran or new to D&D, and our party has both, Kilgannon creates an environment where everyone can shine. I can’t recommend him enough!
While he had a fun table there was a consistent trend of not being able to play scheduled games and finding out less than a day beforehand. I signed up for weekly games and was delivered about a game per month. If these games were actually live I would have a different review, but it did not seem this GM was in a good place to be hosting paid games.
I just wanted to take a moment to shout out Kilgannon for running such a fantastic campaign. We're at session 19 of our CoS campaign and it's been an absolute blast. The pacing, encounters, and roleplay moments have been awesome, and I’m really excited for what’s to come. Huge thanks for all the effort you put into making the game so engaging and fun!

How to prepare
The only real requirement I ask that you bring is a microphone, a Discord account, a DNDBeyond account, and a desire to have fun! Webcams aren't necessary, and realistically you don't need to be on the VTT. It's mostly for a visual aide anyhow.
What I provide
Loads of DNDBeyond sourcebooks (with content sharing), (attempted) voice-acting, brilliant comedic timing, and a desire to weave an enthralling narrative!
Gameplay details
All Safety Tools will be discussed at-length in Session Zero, and I will provide a reference guide in the Discord server if needed at any time.

How will character creation work
Characters will start at level 3. Multiclassing is absolutely allowed! I do have a distaste for Twilight domain clerics, but I can always be persuaded (with a high enough roll). Also, everybody gets a free feat! I would ask that your backstory, class, and faction all align with each other to some degree. I'm flexible, though!
