About the adventure

About me
Hello, I'm Shinii! RPGs are one of my main hobbies. I grew up reading and writing fantasy myself (which I still do), and playing a bunch of (J)RPGs. As such, I try my best to transfer my writing skills and game knowledge into making interesting NPCs and plots that use my players' backstories. I mainly focus on sessions for beginners, as I love teaching this hobby to people that are interested, but I've also run high-level games successfully! For my homebrew campaigns, I have a custom world, in which all of my players play (and some other DMs DM in!), because I like the idea of the players leaving a real mark on the country/world. Real as in, their actions have consequences that can be felt in other players' games!

Creating your character
You will start at level one. If you are completely new, we will be using the D&D Beyond website for character sheets, but you don't need to worry about the numbers: what's important is the idea behind your character. What kind of life have they been leading up to now? Do they enjoy fighting? If so, how do they fight? If not, why did they become adventurers anyway? After you join the Discord server, I'll make myself available to help you as soon as possible, if you need it, be it for the character sheet, or your character as a whole! If you already know how to make your character sheet, you can use an alternate website, or even a physical copy, if you'd like. Feel free to reach out if you need any help!
This is a weekly game, starting from level one, and ending at level 13. It is mainly made for newer players, but anyone is welcome! Note: We've only played through the intro, feel free to join now!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Join the discord server, have a working mic, and try to be on time :p Create an account on Roll20 and D&D Beyond if you don't have one already, and get the Beyond20 browser extension (all are free).
What Shinii brings to the table
Plenty of help, insights and brainstorming for character creation, should you need it. Roll20 maps, access to all sources on Beyond, and dynamic lighting! Ambience music will be provided through watch2gether, since discord music bots have taken a hit.

How Shinii creates a safe table
Expect a bit of everything, this adventure is made to teach and explore DnD. I do not expect you to know all the rules by heart, quite the opposite. Knowing is what I'm here for! Learn your own character, and have fun :) Safety-wise, I will be available at any time in between sessions to text or talk if need be, or even during the session if something is wrong. Likewise, I tend to join the voice chat some time before the game, and stay afterward in order to talk with the players (if they want to). The discord group chat is also there if you need to talk to the team in between sessions!
