About the adventure

Eberron, a land of heroes and villains, where magic is commonplace, and adventure lies around every corner. Come make your hero in this war-scarred land and begin your epic journey across the world of Eberron, to save the world from a fate that lurks in the shadows, just out of sight. This campaign is a 5e rendition of Eberron - Rising from the last war. The sourcebook will be included for your convenience, and character creation help and backstory workshopping comes free of charge. The Campaign is set to go from level 1 to level 15. There will be roleplay, exploration, and plenty of combat, each of which are rewarding in their own ways. I will have a brief meeting as a type of "Session 0" that is free of charge to discuss boundaries, expectations, and themes to avoid with you all once a party is set.

About me

D&D has been my passion ever since I started playing when I was 16. I've been a Dungeon Master for 9 years now and am working tirelessly to make my passion into a career. I'm constantly looking for ways to improve my craft and new tools/tactics to use to give players the best possible experience. I operate here and Discord, though Discord is my primary channel for running sessions. My discord is ItzJustMech #7590 if you would rather reach out to me there.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created at the current level of the party, and will have additional magic items and gold based on level! They will reach up to level 15 ideally in this campaign, and I will help each player individually with character and backstory creation in one on one meetings before their introductory session. Characters must be created in Foundry, using D&D 2014 rules.

The current party

Every Friday evening I will sit down with you prior to your first session to do a character/backstory workshop to figure out just who your mighty hero is. I provide the eberron sourcebook so that you can read as much or as little as you want to discover character creation options, backstory ideas, or understanding of the setting, but if you have questions I'm more than happy to answer them. This campaign will be a high level adventure bringing us all the way to level 15 (currently level 13). Pre-Made characters available Beginner Friendly LGBTQ+ Friendly

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should at least have Discord and a microphone, you don't have to bring a webcam if you don't want to.

What DM Mech brings to the table

I will be providing the source books for Eberron - Rising From the Last War, so that nobody has to go out and buy it themselves in addition to the cost. I also will be providing explorable maps in the Foundry VTT! There will be a dice roller included in the discord, but I am open to suggestions on alternative dice rollers that could improve the quality of the game (D&D Beyond, Alchemy, etc.).

Homebrew rules

Crits: Critical hits deal double damage instead of double dice. Potions: Can drink potions as an action or bonus action. Drinking a potion as an action grants its maximum effect. Inspiration: Inspiration stacks and doesn't expire. I also grant inspiration as a die that you can choose to use normally or expend to add to any d20 roll. Critical Saves: Nat 1s on damaging saving throws result in double damage, while nat 20s result in no damage taken. Heroic Health: When leveling up, roll your hit die, taking the result or the average roll, whichever is higher.

Safety

How DM Mech creates a safe table

There will be a short "Session 0" where we can discuss the setting of the campaign and Lines and Veils. You can expect to see a lot of exploration, high stakes combat, and social interactions depending on where your characters go and how they choose to interact with the important groups of the world. This setting is following the aftermath of a great war, that affected the whole world, so trigger warnings for content related to war and the suffering it brings after the end.
