Dragon of Icespire Peak: Beginners Welcome

Dragon of Icespire Peak: Beginners Welcome

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Driven from lands farther north by more powerful dragons, a young white dragon named Cryovain has descended upon the Sword Mountains, claiming the snow-capped range as its domain. Typical of its kind, Cryovain is dim-witted and cruel. The dragon patrols the skies around Icespire Peak, surveying its territory while hunting for food and easy treasure. With each passing day, the dragon’s domain grows as it ranges farther across the land, preying on anything it can catch with its claws or freeze to death with its icy breath. Sightings of the dragon are becoming more common, as are its attacks. This introductory module will be the first stepping stone in a series of adventures that will take you throughout the lands of the Forgotten Realms Campaign setting.

Game style

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Theater of the Mind

“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Recruiting notes

Session Zero is officially scheduled for 2/20. Join today for your free introductory session to our new campaign! Beginners are welcome and Session Zero is FREE! Characters will start at Level 1 and be created using Roll20's 2024 Character Builder, using point buy for ability scores and PHB 2024 character creation rules. I have the following rule books for your use: PHB (2014/2024), DMG, SCAG, Xanathar's, Tasha's, Fizban's, Van Richten's, Bigby's, and Monster's of the Multiverse. Discover your character's background story and how they fit into this campaign world, and we will find character art for the PC's tokens. This is a starter module. Once this campaign is completed, the players will have the opportunity to continue their characters' adventures into another campaign, such as, Curse of Strahd, Storm King's Thunder, Tomb of Annihilation, or Waterdeep: Dragon Heist to name a few. The choice is yours!

Michael feels like that buddy you've known for years, and even though you don't talk all the time, when you meet up it's like time never passed. Truly a great guy and super fun to play with. Cannot recommend him enough. 🙏🙏🙏

My group and I did a one-shot with Michael as our Dungeon Master. He did a great job helping two somewhat new players fix the characters we had created beforehand and worked with us patiently as we fumbled our way to the finish our one-shot. It was a great five hours.

If you're looking for a fun, listening and very respectful DM, look no further! Michael is great for beginner and advanced players alike. His story telling is great and he knows how to keep the party engaged. I finished one campaign and still playing another and I don't see myself leaving the table anytime soon! Thank you for the great adventures that were and will be! I recommend 10/10!

Very knowledgeable with 5e rules and with Roll20. Slower storytelling style might not work for some.

Michael is a kind and patient GM. He has a vast knowledge of the game mechanics and also a rich knowledge of the lore of DnD which he uses quite well with the adventure. He was always happy to teach and involved character backstory in creative ways. I would play with him again for sure.
