About the adventure

The city of Elturel, holy capital of the nation of Elturgard, has long stood as a beacon of literal and spiritual light in the region. Illuminated by their second sun, The Companion, the entire nation has long been free from the hordes of undead that once plagued it. You are adventurers who have arrived in Elturel for varying reasons. However, things here are not as they seem... Are you prepared to peer into the darkness, pull back the veil, and discern the truth of the city's brotherhoods? Are you brave enough to investigate the unusual happenings in the city that speak of a darkness from which there may be no escape? How far will you go to bring redemption to yourselves and others? Can you see this adventure through, or will you be consumed, corrupted and changed by it?

About me

Born at a very young age, I was marked from my youth, cursed to be sired by a "Role-player". My destiny was sealed that fateful day. For years, this passion lay dormant, until my foolish brother, having unearthed the tomes hidden in our home, began... to play. He hosted a game on my birthday, allowing me to invite a friend to play the legendary "Sunless Citadel". The day I met Meepo the Kobold, I knew this was my calling. For over 20 years now, I have honed my body and mind to perfect the art of TTRPG. While others studied the blade, I read the monster manual. While some played sports, I learned the the formulas necessary to calculate ability scores and spell slots. If you need a guide to the other side of that magical door that is immersive roleplaying, I hope to assist in this, the most honorable of goals. To me, TTRPGs have always represented a unique opportunity to explore powerful situations and emotions that our lives might not otherwise present the opportunity to explore. It can be a powerful emotional tool in difficult times in life, and it can be a great way to just hang out with some buds and have low-stakes, goofy fun. Both are good, and both are valid. I strive to create a fun and inclusive space for anybody interested in the hobby, regardless of background or skill level. Roleplaying means a lot of different things to different people, but diversity is what makes it fun!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be made and levelled up via Dndbeyond's character creation tools, with compendium content provided by me. I will import sheets into foundry each week at the beginning of the session to keep sheets up to date. I am open to tweaks and changes being made to the characters to better fit the feeling or function of your character as we play. making aa character can be confusing, and a misinformed decision shouldn't be the reason to stop playing, so feel free to ask about any changes to your character and I will almost certainly approve it.

The current party

This is an ongoing campaign that meets every Wednesday. Game starts at the 15 minute mark, not on the hour. Party Composition: Level 11 Half-orc Fighter/ Paladin Half Elf Warlock Gnome Artificer Dragonborn Paladin Elf Rogue Bugbear Cleric

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a Chrome based web-browser (Chrome or firefox) to access Foundry, and a computer or laptop (Mouse highly recommended) with a discord account. I also ask that players watch a tutorial on the basic functions of Foundry before the session so that the interface is accessible to you. It is a little intimidating at first, but Foundry is easily my favorite VTT for its breadth of customization and features. Otherwise, just a willing attitude to participate in the story!

What Killian brings to the table

I have a hosted server for our foundry game to ensure better connection for players, Access to all official content as well a a breadth of other books and content creators to add depth and customization to our games. Finally, I bring 20+ years of experience as a player and DM to help facilitate play, exploring possible options for character builds to help ensure that our story is being told the best way possible.

Safety

How Killian creates a safe table

I maintain an open door policy in regards to hearing out concerns and worries about content, and will do everything in my power to respect those wishes for the best interest of the party. Lines and veils can be established to help facilitate sensitive topics, and players are welcome to take breaks whenever needed if things do become too intense.
