Welcome to Brindlewood Bay; A picturesque coastal town with a dark secret. 📚 Join the Mystery Mavens Book Club and get drawn into real-life mysteries around town! 💀 📺 Indulge in your 1980s TV mystery nostalgia. 📺 Create the cozy/creepy New England town of your dreams. 🏘️ You might be a recent empty nester or an old loner who has been observing the goings on of the town for years, or maybe you've newly arrived thinking Brindlewood Bay seems like the perfect place to spend your golden years. The Mystery Mavens Book Club seems like a great place to meet new people and get out of the house. The weekly meetings take place in the cozy loft of the Candlelight Bookstore and the other ladies and the bookstore owner seem quite welcoming. The fact that you keep getting drawn into real-life murder mysteries is an added bonus, or maybe it's an annoying inconvenience. But you have your favorite fictional detectives to help guide your steps. This Powered by the Apocalypse game is presented in the format of an old TV show complete with opening credits and commercial breaks. You, your fellow Mavens, and the Keeper will build the town and your lives there while exploring your relationships with the locals and each other as you solve murder mysteries and uncover the dark links between them.

You'll receive cheat sheets and a character sheet to get started but I'll ask you a series of questions during the first few minutes of our session to set up your character, establish our relationships, special moves, and building our cozy places together.

Preparing for the session
We will use the online dice roller to make our rolls. If you prefer to use your own dice, you'll need 3 six-sided dice. Review the Prep Notes to get access to your character creation guide and move notes to get you started.

How Morningbird creates a safe table
This game is set in the 1980s-90s and deals with themes of murder and the supernatural. Since murder often revolves around sex, money, drugs/alcohol, and ideology, related themes may enter the game. Sexual assault and child abuse are not permitted. Sexual situations will be taken off-screen. Roleplay will be PG-13 and safe for work. Children under 18 may join only if a parent is also participating.
