About the adventure

Barrow is a teeming metropolis of nearly nine million, nestled in southern Massachusetts like a tick. To those outside, it is nothing. Never heard of, never mentioned. Unless you know where you are going, or are very unlucky, or are chosen, you can drive right past Barrow on the Interstate and never notice it. To most of the world, the only things of interest in that region are the fallen whaling town of New Bedford and Lizzie Borden’s home town of Fall River…both of which are just suburbs of the bloated thing called Barrow. The nights are long, and sometimes cold, in more ways than one. You straddle the line between life and death, drinking the blood of the living to keep body and soul together . . . if, indeed, you still have one. You are a vampire, trying to survive and stay sane in a world that wants to use you, abuse you, destroy you. You might be trying to claw your way up the structures of power in vampire society . . . or fighting to bring it down. You might just be trying to keep your freedom and your self respect. Your humanity? Maybe. Maybe you're fighting to keep that. But the odds aren't good. Eventually, the Beast wins. Some might even look forward to that. If that weren't enough, vampires aren't the only things in the night. Werewolves, sorcerors, demons, and stranger things haunt Barrow's streets. Not to mention the human hunters that want to see you all destroyed. And can you really blame them?
