About the adventure
D&D 5e, beginners welcome, Session Zero is Free of Charge, and this campaign will go from Level 1 to around Level 13 depending on progression and player choices. The gates have been closed and sealed. Fires burn to the east, up the Chionthar river, with no explanation. The Flaming Fists call for volunteers and swell their ranks. Something is coming for Baldur's Gate. Something wicked, this way comes. Gather your strength, rally your allies, and venture forth. Elturel has fallen, and soon, more may yet burn. On burning wings, comes a warrior, corrupt and evil, a heart black as pitch. Blazing sword aloft, Hell has come to the Forgotten Realms. The only question that remains is, will you survive the conflagration? Lets find out...
Level 1-13 campaign following the story of the Baldur's Gate: Descent to Avernus book, featuring additional homebrew with a beginner friendly table.

How to prepare
Players are expected to have a working Discord account, microphone, and a character sheet of some kind. While Owlbear Rodeo will be used to visualize the battlefield, it is browser based and an account with them is optional (though encouraged! It's free and cloud based) Dice are welcome but not required, digital rollers are also fine, so long as you have a way to roll dice for a random result.
What I provide
I will provide a Discord server built for ease of use and access, PDF character sheets, a dice rolling bot, along with a number of homebrew resources packed with unique character creation and customization options. While a camera is encouraged, it is certainly not required.
Gameplay details
I try to cater my games to the interests of my tables, and I base my analysis on what players spend the most time talking about. Nothing is set in stone, the more you engage with me and my story, the more material you give me to return that engagement. Our Session Zero will cover character creation and party builds, but also campaign edits to change, remove, or discuss any of the material under content warnings. I am will and able to remove reference and direct depiction of almost anything on this list myself, and everything can be adjusted with player collaboration. Furthermore, I encourage the use of an X, N, and O card system for anything following the events of the Session 0. X, N, and O cards are used via Discord DMs and are confidential, as well as any concerns raised to me via my Open Door Policy. My job is to facilitate a fun and interesting experience with ALL of my players, and I take my job very seriously. I run my tables with the expectation of collaboration with my players, I do not play AGAINST anyone.

How will character creation work
Character creation will be facilitated in Session 0, alongside your fellow party members. I have no requirements for a character sheet through any particular program but a character sheet is required. Players wishing to create characters ahead of time are encouraged to do so, with the caveat that I very richly reward teamwork within my games, so a character doesn't need to "do everything!" and it would behoove any player to have more than one concept for a character in mind.
