About the adventure

Halloween night, 1988. The Old Barnaker House. Every kid has heard about it. Everybody has a different awful story about it. All of them agree it is a very bad place. But here you are on Halloween Night, all because of that jerk Roger. He dared you and your friends to spend the night there. You couldn’t let him bully you. You will show him who is chicken! Everybody knows that there are no such things as ghosts... right? Get your slingshot and your pocket knife. Grab some candy and ready your Rubik’s Cube. You and your friends are going to go face-to-face with the horrors of the Barnaker House. Hopefully you will live to see the dawn. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This game will be played with the "Call of Kid-Thulhu" rules, a modified and simplified ruleset made specifically for this adventure.

About me

Ever since I was young, I've loved telling stories. Whenever there was a creative writing project in school, I would always go way overboard. I've been playing tabletop games for only about four years, but I have come to realize that it is a wonderful outlet for storytelling. When I run games, there is an emphasis on story, worldbuilding, and characters. My goal is to make you fully invested in the story we're making together! I am a complete beginner at running games professionally, so if you like any of the games I've run for you, leave a nice review or a tip if you are able to do so!

Character creation

Creating your character

Since this scenario uses a special sheet that is not in Roll20, we'll be making character sheets the old fashioned way and just using Roll20 as a visual. I will walk you through the process of making your Call of Kid-Thulhu character in the week leading up to the game!

The current party

We didn't finish the game on Halloween night, so we'll be finishing it tonight! Since this isn't the full one-shot, I will not be charging full price!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All you will need is a Roll20 account, a Discord account, and a microphone. You can use either physical dice or the digital dice Roll20 provides! I would recommend reading through the rules, or watching Seth Skorkowsky's series on how to play Call of Cthulhu!

What Mia Hawksley brings to the table

I will provide high-quality maps, tokens, and handouts, as well as the Investigator's Handbook and some pregenerated characters. I will create a handout in the Roll20 explaining how to create a Call of Kid-Thulhu character. In addition, I will be doing character voices and perhaps even some creature sounds!

Safety

How Mia Hawksley creates a safe table

I will message you all before the game to offer to help you create your characters, and I will check in with you all about lines and veils at the start of the game.
