A Map of Oddities [Beginner/LGBTQ+ Safe!]

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

After escaping the Tundra Prison + the Warden and her Guards the escaped convicts have finally found their groove, no longer living of scraps the party is off to sail to greener pastures. A Bi-Weekly group! Level 3. The first ~10 sessions were spent running from the warden and her men, now the party is off to do whatever they please. After earning every inch the party has finally found freedom in the form of a sailing ship. AHOY MATEY!

Game style

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Recruiting notes

A group of prisoners has escaped their for-profit prison run by the tyrannical warden. This group has survived and found a town of well-meaning Lycanthropes who worship Oreithyia, the goddess of Frost. The game starts with the party investigating a corrupt elemental trying to ruin the lycanthropes lives. The party is level 4!

How to prepare

Get a drink, get a snack, get a comfy chair and a stable internet connection and we will be fine! Other requirements like a PC and accounts for the aforementioned websites/services are of course also needed.

What I provide

I hope to bring a happy attitude + handouts for homebrew items and spells! Also: Illustrations of your character can be bought if we play a few sessions together! The commission prices depend on the size and quality of the artwork but this we can discuss later.

Gameplay details

There are some documents and links if you were to join that range from necessary to interesting. A consent form, a document with personal table rules, a discord server link, a roll20 campaign link, etc. I would love to aid you with this if you would want my help ❤️ I promise to be inclusive to everyone that plays without malicious intent, anyone that uses threats and ridicules others will result in a ban at my table (let's have some respect while still poking fun at one another once in a while). Players can expect a good mix between combat and roleplay, depending on their wishes the 50-50% mix can be scaled to be anything else.

How will character creation work

Character creation will happen with the aid of a clear and well-written document that will hold 99% of the information you need to start with, after that point, I'm more than willing to aid you in the challenge. Use roll20 or Dndbeyond to keep track of your character, and in the case of the latter use the Beyond20 extension to link back to roll20 where we host our sessions. My usual table rules for character creation: • All races, classes, and backgrounds are allowed. Homebrew content can be allowed if discussed beforehand. • Multiclassing and Feats are certainly allowed • Stats are as follows: roll 4d6, then remove the lowest, (aka keep the 3 highest). Alternatively, you can choose to use the standard array or point buy method, even after having seen your set of rolls. • Choose how involved you want me to be in the character creation process, if you want existing NPC's to be part of your backstory then don't be afraid to ask! • Custom Rules at my table: https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/4LbyWsE8XaUc • Message me for help!
