About the adventure

You were recruited into a top secret military organization, a subsidiary of the FBI tasked with protecting humanity from reality deviants. They told you that creatures of darkness such as Vampires and Changlings exist and that their very existence breaks down what we call reality. They taught you various methods for identifying and dealing with these deviations. You were barely out of your Specialist Training Camp when you got your first marching orders. Under cover of darkness, you and your fellows were shipped to a National Guard post in a small town outside of New Orleans for some big hush-hush to do called, OPERATION: BLACKENED REDFISH. You assume it's a big operation because of the amount of firepower your team has been provided. From automatic shotguns and M16s to high tech hand weapons, you check your gear while you are waiting in the APC for what's next. Whether or not you admit it, you're a little nervous. From the looks of it, your team mates seem a little nervous too. Even your CO, Captain Finch, grumbles about being kept in the dark while fidgeting with a balisong, flip-flip-flip... flip-flip-flip. This is a One-Shot, Renegade Games, Hunter: the Reckoning adventure. Pregen characters provided. Run via Discord for voice and Roll20 for maps and dice. New Players Welcome!

About me

Hi. My name is Derrick and I love role-playing games. I am a Player and a Storyteller with over 40 years of experience. Starting with the with the Red Box Basic D&D set, I have explored a huge list of systems and settings from the space lanes of Traveller to the lightning rails of Eberron to the deepest mysteries of the World of Darkness. I have built worlds around campaigns and campaigns around worlds that I have built and it still excites me to explore what each story has to offer. How would you like an Adventure of your own? Are you tired of being an accessory to someone else's Story? Forced to watch as the main character of the book or video gets all the glory? Me too!! You deserve to be a part of that world and I'm the sort of storyteller that wants to make that happen. I do my best to "Yes, and..." your ideas within the reality of our setting but I'm not afraid to expose you to the consequences of your actions. Some of the most fun and memorable moments in role-playing are a direct result of some epic failure. Which is to say that character growth is a priority for me. When running a game I follow two major guidelines: The Rule of Cool and Wheaton's Law. So please join me, Sir Derrick Gregoire, Imperial Storyteller and Knight of Flowers, on our next adventure!

Character creation

Creating your character

8 Pregenerated Characters that can be customized to the players preference. I'm willing to create a specific character if you contact me before the game. Game time is go time and you get what I got at that point.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You need to have a push to talk or mutable mic. Limited background noise is tolerated but disruptive bg noise should be muted. (I don't care if she's being bad, no one wants to hear you screaming at your cat.) You also need a free discord account, a free roll20 account, a desire for excitement.

What Derrick Gregoire brings to the table

I'm bringing the rules and a challenging scenario. The characters, dice, and maps will be on Roll20.

Safety

How Derrick Gregoire creates a safe table

Rule of Cool. Wheaton's Law. This game is violent by it's nature and not for the faint of heart. We will try to take a player's personal issues into consideration, but expect emotionally heavy situations.
