About the adventure
The ruling Blood Lords, immortal and mostly undead, need skilled troubleshooters. People like you, who can do their dirty work on the down-low, expose their political rivals... and take the fall when things go wrong. But you have other ideas as to who the real pawns are. To you, your patrons are mere stepping stones on a long, bloody ascent to rule in the ghost king's name. But little do you know, that you're about to stumble into the heart of a conspiracy that goes straight to the top. They won't hesitate to kill you to protect their secrets. But in a land where undeath is king, the grave they think they're digging just might be their own... π§ Gain strength through undeath! β°οΈ Bury (and reanimate) your rivals! π© Recruit playable minions! π€ Throw lavish feasts (lady fingers... yum...)! π‘οΈ Outscheme cutthroat factions! π΅οΈ Expose conspiracy (and hide your own)! π Cement your immortal rule! π Tip cows (they're zombies, OK?)! Expanded beyond the published material with: π Leadership: Build a power base of loyal lieutenants and followers that expand your reach in the world and venture alongside you. π Enterprise: Barter and coerce your way into assets that enhance your downtime, earn wealth, and host honored guests... and rivals. π₯ Intrigue: Play the factions against each other, turning their boons and secrets against their own interests. π Immersion: Enjoy a premium VTT experience with sophisticated automation, varied soundtracks, and an extensive library of maps for original and player-driven quests.

About me
To you who join me at the table, welcome home! Through astronomy modeling to folklore research, amidst fraught years in game design school and software engineering, from comic stage plays to dramatic recitals... I've taken a twisting path to role-playing games. Each of these former roles has taught me invaluable lessons, which I bring to the table. Confidence in my ability to improvise character moments. A systematizing mind to design challenges that test characters to their limits. Technical aptitude to use virtual tabletops to their fullest. An instinct for tapping into characters' hidden motives and how they can elevate drama. And an abiding appreciation for the shared humanity that binds us all together. Let us weave new stories together, full of mirth and mischief, love and laughter, and no shortage of groan-inducing puns.

Creating your character
Create a character of level and wealth matching the party. Or, choose a pregenerated character of the same level. Variant Rules: Free Archetype. 1st-level characters can start out as undead by taking a 2nd-level undead archetype's dedication feat early. Uncommon/Rare Option Access: β All options from the Player's Guide β All uncommon classes and their multiclass archetypes β All Undead archetypes from "Book of the Dead", and the Corpse Tender archetype β All uncommon options from the Impossible Lands region β Your choice of: ββ One uncommon or rare ancestry or versatile heritage ββ One uncommon archetype ββ One uncommon/rare alchemical formula, ritual, or spell ββ All uncommon options from one chosen organization or home region β Others with GM approval Prohibited Character Options: β Options that have the holy trait or grant a character that trait β Spoiler-marked options from "Blood Lords" β Options prohibited on a case-by-case basis for breaking genre or causing problematic play patterns. In some cases, the GM can provide a more suitable replacement upon request. Special Notes: The party is expected to be able to heal both living and undead members. However, the use of vitality energy outside of the state's monopoly on violence is a capital crime, punishable by body disintegration and soul obliteration. Dabble in such forbidden magic with care. Third-Party Character Options: In addition to Paizo-published character options, the GM has access to a selection of third-party character options: β Paizo playtest materials for upcoming source books β Lore-appropriate options from Starfinder 2E β Ancestries from Roll for Combat's Battlezoo line of third-party sourcebooks So long as there is unanimous agreement from all players to introduce this material, the GM will make it available upon request. Check the adventure's recruiting notes for information on which third-party materials, if any, the table is using.

What Saoirse, Veil Adept brings to the table
I run games on a richly customized Foundry server, complete with high automation, soundscapes, animations, and additional maps for minor scenes and improvisation. I also create custom content that responds to the party's interests and decisions, including a player-run organization that accrues property, exerts political influence, and delegates side missions to lieutenants.

How Saoirse, Veil Adept creates a safe table
Besides typical Pathfinder action and adventure, Blood Lords emphasizes the power struggles of an autocratic society dominated by undead. Players scheme, spy, backstab, and desecrate their foes, all against a backdrop of profane monstrosity and societal discrimination against the living. As a result, the table is for mature audiences only. New players should fill out the consent safety checklist, accessible through preparation materials.
