About the adventure
Take part in the most high-octane, most dangerous, most lucrative sports in all the galaxy! Anti-Grav Racing! Your team will race your individual vehicles, some built for speed, others built for muscle. Once you're on the track, anything can happen. Avoid natural hazards in the many topsy-turvy racetracks across the galaxy. Avoid bloodthirsty competitors who will happily take your life to get that bit closer to first place. Hop in your vehicle and earn your place on the podium. Between races, the team will engage with every off-track element of being an anti-grav racer. Negotiate with your sponsors, make deals with others teams to race in a particular way, seek out upgrades for your vehicle (legal or otherwise), anything that can give you the edge when you're back on the track. I enjoy roleplay focus in my games. The system for character actions off track is intentionally very simple, allowing for a lot of possibilities.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello Players! My name is Giles. I'm sure it will be lovely to meet you. I hope we get the chance to tell a story together! My primary goal is to create a space where players can feel comfortable and safe to have fun and tell a story together. I've been running games since 2013 and it is my greatest passion in life. I thrive on collaborative storytelling and the unique experience each group will have at the table that can never be perfectly replicated by another group. You will have heard the term "rule of cool" before and I certainly believe in that philosophy. If a rule needs to be tweaked or even ignored to allow for the narrative to be satisfying then I will always do that. Why should your character have an unsatisfying arc just because of a bad die roll? I have a degree in game design. I'm working on my own RPGs and I run Blades in the Dark, Monster of the Week, Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Agon, Gravity Rip, Wanderhome.

Creating your character
I will communicate about creating character concepts beforehand. The character stat is one number on a scale, so this will be decided at the start of the session. The same is true for each character's vehicle.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Each player will need a microphone and ideally a stable Internet connection. I play primarily through Discord, but if that doesn't work for a group I can relocate to any other conferencing software. Players may be on camera but it isn't mandatory. any software or paper with which to keep notes about their vehicle's health or character goals would also be preferable but not mandatory.
What Giles Margerum brings to the table
I will be playing ambient music while we play as well as performing each character with a distinct voice. My style of GMing is always more focused on a satisfying narrative than anything else. I will utilize the rules to make the game fun, right up until they get in the way.

How Giles Margerum creates a safe table
Before the session I will send each player a Lines and Veils Document and spend a short period at the start of the session clarifying everything that the game will not include at all, and the elements that we will potentially be fading to black on. The X, N, and O cards will be either spoken or typed into the chat. This game will be very free for characters to improvise and enjoy themselves during the story mode, and then really engage with the satisfying rules during race mode.
