About the adventure

This is a game for new and experienced players alike! Come together to begin the story of fledgling adventurers on the path to greatness and riches! This is a story based in the setting of the forgotten realms, primarily focused on the frontier region of the foothills of the Sword Mountains. It is a land littered with the ruins of ancient Dwarven strongholds, remnants of empires long since fallen, and scars from the violent wars of recent centuries. Work as a sellsword has dried up lately. Funds are running low and you are going to need a signifigant windfall to stay afloat. Luckily, you just got some good news from a Dwarf named Gundren. Says he's got a lead on the last job you'll ever need to take. [D&D 5E]

About me

I've been Running games for 9 years, coming up on 10, with a number of long-running campaigns. I wanted to start running games from the start so I could bring forth the wild, creative nonsense that I just knew the medium was capable of.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be built at Level 1 using the 27 Point- Point Buy method. Having a character concept before session 0 would be helpful, and it would be good to think of ideas for what you would want to play as soon as possible, but it is not necessary, as character creation will be done together as a group.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All you need is a Roll20 account, a Discord account, and access to a microphone, as well as preferably a computer to actually access Roll20, as the mobile app is unwieldy for actual play. If you need an explanation of the game or help creating a character as a new player, this will be handled during Session 0.

What Denn V. brings to the table

This game will utilize the inbuilt module for the Lost Mines of Phandelver. This includes maps, handouts, lore, and other information, as well as other items necessary for the module to run. The compendium within Roll20 has information required for the creation of most character classes and options, as I have purchased most source book add-ons, though there may be few exceptions for recent releases.

How Denn V. creates a safe table

Players can expect a story-rich experience with a mixture of mechanical flexibility and roleplay opportunities tailored to the preferences of the group. We will be using a Session 0 to establish group dynamics and make sure that expectations are understood on both sides of the table, and we will also be utilizing X N and O Check-in cards in the form of messages to myself (the DM) or posted publicly, depending on whether the person invoking the card is comfortable with it. If the game or a discussion is going in a direction that is distressing to a player, it is my hope that they make it known to me so that I might steer the discussion away, fade to black, or address it as necessary.
