Report Adventure

About the adventure

A decade has past since the destruction that followed the Chroma Conclave and the empowerment of Vecna. The world of Exandria has spent much of the past ten years rebuilding what was lost and the land is slowly returning to it's former glory, though parts of the world will forever be scarred with the wounds inflicted upon her. While the world seems to fall into order, mysterious forces behind the scenes use this weakness for their nefarious goals. Every adventure begins somewhere, and ours begins on a beautiful cloudy day in the rolling hills of the Mornset Countryside. Blaring horns cut through the still air. A town on the defense and goblins on the attack. Tal'Dorei still needs heroes, will you answer the call? This campaign is set in the Worlds of Exandria created by Matthew Mercer from Critical Role. Whether your a fan of Critical Role, or just enjoy rolling some dice, I welcome you to the table. We will begin this campaign at level 2. This will feature a drop in drop out style game, where every week will normally comprise of a main goal or mission that normally can be completed in one to two sessions. What you will need? -Discord for voice chat. Video is not required though it is encouraged. -DndBeyond account (free) -Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser recommended.

About me

Well Hello there, My name is Matt, but my mom calls me Matthew. I have been an avid player and dm of D&D 5e for 6+ years now. I first got into D&D after a friend bought the starter set and asked if I wanted to try being the DM. 6 years later and I'm still the DM of that game that plays weekly. I am a hyper active person by nature and doing funny or odd voices has always been something I enjoyed doing, it just so happens that translates well into tabletop role-playing games. I am comfortable with improv and moving a story as the players dictate. I try to keep my games a mix of roleplay, combat, and exploration. I began looking at hosting games to find more ways to express my love for the game and to help others find that table they have been looking for. As a forever dm, I understand sometimes you just want to play, so what are you waiting for? My timezone is Pacific Standard Time. Enough about me... 🎲IT'S YOUR TURN TO ROLL. 🎲

Character creation

Creating your character

All players will create their characters using DndBeyond (this is free for you and most playable races and subclasses will be available when you join my campaign.) You can create your character using the DndBeyond Campaign link you get from joining this game. _______ Remember to use the point buy system to allocate stat scores for your playable character. _______ **When creating your character on the first page under CHARACTER PREFERENCES, you will enable the following for your character.** -SOURCES- Critical Role Content -OPTIONAL FEATURES- Optional Class Features and Customize Your Origin -HIT POINT TYPE- Fixed -ENCUMBRANCE TYPE- No Encumbrance. All available race, subclass, and backgrounds will be available for you to pick during creation. 📖If you would like a premade sheet, please let me know and I can get that set up for you.

The current party

We will be playing Sunday mornings. This campaign is a drop in drop out. Please make sure to hit skip if you can’t make it one week. We will be doing character creation the days leading up to your first game. I like to try and have players join with at least a 24 hour notice. After going over our safety tools for consent to ensure we all have a safe gaming environment we will begin our first game together. Normally I try to get new players online at least 45 minutes before normal game time to go over the VTT and make sure everything is working correctly, as I use a multitude of mods for our foundry game this can be critical to ensure I provide you with the best play experience! We can also do this earlier in the week if you join with enough time for us to schedule that 45 minutes walkthrough/invite to the session.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

🎤 Microphone is required on whatever device you have discord downloaded on. Camera is encouraged but not required. 📖 Basic knowledge of the game is required. You don't need to know all the rules, just the basics of D&D 5e. 🖥️ For the best experience a PC is required. 🎲 All dice will be rolled via DndBeyond or Foundry using the digital roller on your character sheets. Character sheets should be made at least 2 hours before the game begins.

Safety

How Stegilsaurus (Matt) creates a safe table

💼 ~SAFETY TOOLS FOR CONSENT~💼 At my table I want every player to be comfortable, to ensure this I use safety tools in all of my games. Before my games I have all players fill out the a TTRPG Safety and Consent Questionnaire. All of this will be available from the Discord server. ⚔ ~COMBAT~ 🏹 I try to make all my combats Hard or Deadly when using the encounter builder on DNDBeyond. Quick thinking, and a good plan will be needed, although fleeing is always an option. 🧊~RULE OF COOL~🧊 While I use RAW and RAI, I also enjoy a fun scene that my players help create. If the idea if fun, we might just have to roll🎲 for it 🎵 ~Music~🎵 I play music through Kenku FM on my discord server to help immerse the players into the game. 📖~NEWCOMERS WELCOME~📖 I am always open to helping newcomers learn the game. If you have questions in the game or before, don't be afraid to ask. I've never met someone to sit at the table for the first time and not have a question or two.
