Our setting is based on the works of Dr. Aleron Kong's Chaos Seeds novels, one of the top selling LitRPG series. Our campaign takes place in the Red Venom Plains, an ancient continent filled with opportunity and danger. You are invited to explore its many linked cities and the wild lands between them. Survive if you can... and claim your own part of The Land. This is a 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons campaign using optional and expanded rules. You do not need any experience to play, nor any previous knowledge of our world, D&D, or roleplaying. All races and classes are legal except for homebrew content, and Rick and Morty. Creating your character
Upon reserving a spot, you will be given a link to our D&D Beyond campaign, where you can use our resources to make a character. All of the character math is done - you simply choose what you want to upgrade and the generator does all the math. For this game, all characters will begin at level 1, but we do have a scaling system to help you fit in if you start late.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
As this is an introductory game, there is no need for previous knowledge of the world or the system. We would appreciate all players having a working microphone with no background noise. We intend to use Discord for audio, and the game will be run on Roll20- so each player will need a free Roll20 account and a Discord account. This game's setting will be more familiar to those that have read Dr. Aleron Kong's Chaos Seeds series of LitRPG books, so we also recommend reading them at any point.
What DM AfroZach brings to the table
As this is a virtual game, all gaming materials are being virtually provided. Our system is modular; after this introductory adventure, our players can discuss the adventure and give feedback in secure Discord rooms to prevent spoilers for other players. All players will be able to participate in future events with their same character, which will be saved to our database. I'll bring my best entertaining self, plus some fun effects, and maybe some dogs interrupting us.

How DM AfroZach creates a safe table
You can make your character on D&D Beyond or using the Roll20 Charactermancer (which is embedded). We have a high number of scripts and macros to speed up play, but our game is an introductory game if necessary - we will help you along if needed. This is standard 5th Ed D&D, which we will teach to our new players. We have extensive macros and APIs built into roll20 to help blunt the need for mechanics.
