How to prepare

A mic and headphones are required to connect to Discord for our chat. Cams are optional (but encouraged! I'll have mine on), but all of the voice and video will be done on the Discord channel (link provided when you join the game). In terms of the VTT, all you need to do is click the link to the server and sign up to Forge for free. Simple as that! Character sheets are all there. The dice rollers on Foundry are all set up and ready to go (you can even customise their look!) or you can roll your own physical dice (a little trickier in this system, but not impossible). Whatever works for you!

What I provide

I have maps, tokens, art, animated features on the VTT, a vibrant Discord server, pdfs for the rules, and a fully-loaded Foundry VTT set-up built to support the official Free League release. I will be available as frequently as I can for questions, I am inclusive and allow for creative solutions, and I have a fairly extensive knowledge of the system. It is very fun!

Gameplay details

I like to follow the rules but allow for creative solutions and some appropriate bending. Combat should aim to be snappy, and I make sure that everyone knows when their turn is approaching so that they have plenty of time to think and react. Table Etiquette: - This is a game: having fun is always the first goal. This expands to all players - GM included. - Respect the team: racism, homophobia, xenophobia, sexism, or any other toxic and disgraceful behaviour will not be tolerated. We are all human beings, so let's celebrate that. - Communication is key: conflict happens, and often enhances the game as a whole. Make sure that you check in with everyone so that we can be clear about where that conflict stops. - Be reasonable and clear with your expectations: every character has a story, and campaigns can take a while. I'll do my best to make sure that everyone feels that they have had valuable "screen-time", but I would also ask that you remain patient and respectful of the fact that the spotlight may shine on others for a time, too. That being said, I - as a mistake-prone and fallible human - will always take the time to listen and discuss any grievances. This refers back to the previous point. - Do not be a ghost: this does not mean "don't be quiet". Some people aren't as keen on role-play, and that is fine. What I am referring to, is people exiting with no word or explanation. If our game is not your cup of tea, that is absolutely fine, and I hope that you find a better fit soon. If that is the case, please let us know. I always appreciate feedback, and that way we can fill the spot, and the game doesn't grind to a halt whilst we find explanations as to why your character isn't there. For safety and comfort, there will be a document, as well as lines & veils being addressed before the adventure begins. An X-card can be anonymously activated and we'll know to skip, fade, or retcon to allow for maximum comfort for all players.

How will character creation work

We will be building or selecting our characters over Discord before we begin. The pre-generated characters all have a tie to the adventure, but there is no reason why we couldn't have original characters with the same or similar ties to the story. This will all be handled before our first session.
