About the adventure
The year is 2132 and the world is emerging from the War of Worlds, the 100 year war that started when the first nuclear bomb was detonated by Russia in response to growing hostilities between Russia and the United States. The results were more catastrophic and unpredictable than anyone could have imagined. The blast tore open a hole in space-time, breaking into another dimension, and merging the two dimensions together. This event is now referred to as “The Tear” and marks the start of a new kind of war; a war of existences. The Tear brought the world of The Forgotten Realms into the world of Earth, and along with it all of the fantastical races, monsters, gods and devils. Now, after 100 years, the world is finally at peace. The Factions, numerous groups of the political elite, hold the power in the world. The last city on Earth falls under one governing body, now, controlled by The Factions. According to the new peace treaty, the factions will rotate the seat of power annually. This system has been working for nearly a decade, but rumors are abound, indicating that Czarina Petrokov, the matriarch of the The Iron Manacle Faction and current head of state, is planning to keep her seat of authority when the change of power happens in 6 month’s time. You will play as a group of citizens, each representing one of the factions, hired to be a neutral party tasked with ensuring the smooth transition of power. In order to do this, though, you must first uncover the Czarina’s plot, find out who is in league with her, collect your own allies, and gain strength along the way to ensure your victory.

About me
Hey there! I am Professor Kaleidoscope, or PK. I am a 30 year old professional dungeon master, published poet, and aspiring college professor. As I pursue my master’s degree, I love spending my free time creating amazing, immersive dungeons and dragons experiences for others. I have been running games for 15 years, and I possess an abundance of content and experience to share with my players. I aim to create a welcoming environment for all players, whether you’re brand new to the game or a veteran player familiar with multiple editions of the game. (I play 5e) As a professional dungeon master, I spend my own time and money bringing the most enjoyable experience possible to my players, including using the most immersive battle maps on the best virtual tabletop around, Foundry VTT. I offer access to all currently published material for character creation through D&DBeyond, in addition to my time and support as your DM. I look forward to running games for you!

Creating your character
Characters will begin at level 1, utilizing optional additions from Mogrit’s “Technomancer’s Textbook” prior to game start. Character creation guidelines, details about house rules, resting, downtime, leveling, equipment, and other things will be discussed in Discord publicly with the group and privately with the DM prior to game start. Players will use DNDBeyond to create their level 1 characters.
A gritty, fantasy sci-fi DND game full of tough decisions, strategic thinking, and a ticking clock before total defeat, playing Fridays at 7:00pm CST.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to have a solid internet connection and good microphone, as well as access to Discord, a free Dndbeyond account, access to and a basic understanding of Mogrit’s free PDF “Technomancer’s Textbook,” and a free account on Forge-VTT.com in order to access the Foundry VTT.

As a DM, I will be providing content sharing to my DNDBeyond library for character creation as well as access to the Foundry VTT, an open discord inbox for any needed support, and decades of TTRPG experience.

How Professor Kaleidoscope creates a safe table
Session 0 and other safety tools will be used via discord. This game will use the free PDF Cyberpunk 5e supplement “The Technomancer’s Textbook” published by Mogrit. Gameplay will be difficult, utilizing gritty realism rules for resting and other house rules, which will be discussed in detail prior to game start. It will be an equal mix of roleplay, exploration, combat, puzzles, and high strategy.
