About the adventure
In Baldur’s Gate, Syndra Silvane sits at her manor’s second story window looking out onto the fog shrouded streets below from behind her silver mask. It hides features rotting from the death curse that started affecting anyone raised, no matter how long ago. Twenty days ago—that’s when it started. Since then, everyone brought back from the dead began to waste away. The sages of Candlekeep whisper that their souls are being stolen, one by one. The clerics of Toril have no help to offer. The cloying stench of her own returning death fills the room, overpowering the aroma of the wine she has laid out for the guests she is expecting. In the bustling hum of Nyanzaru’s markets, tabaxi minstrels performing for spare coins weave through crowds of Chultans as merchants from Amn look to trade their nation’s ales, silks and carpets purchased from Calimport, or books from Candlekeep for Lantana smokepowder, Chultan hardwoods, and archeological marvels from deep within Chult’s ghoul infested mainland. Trees sway to a muggy breeze and insects hum in the moist air as a Tyrannosaurus’s roar can be heard echoing from the pens in Tiryki Anchorage—a storm is coming, but little does the city realize its deluge will bear far worse than tropical winds and rain. “All paths lead to Chult, a mysterious land of volcanoes, jungles, and the ruins of fallen kingdoms. Below them all awaits a deadly tomb. The trap is set. Will you take the bait?” –Tomb of Annihilation (2017) Looking to enjoy a gritty fantasy adventure set in the untamed tropical wilderness of Chult from the Forgotten Realms? If lore rich, roleplay heavy, tense, gritty games are what you are looking for, this might be the game for you...

About me
I have been playing D&D since 2e, acquired private playtester and consultancy credits in three 5e D&D books, and just earned my PhD in English literature with a dissertation studying the migration of genre from prose media into the medium of tabletop role-playing games. Come, join my table, and let me take you on an adventure!
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Players will build characters using D&D Beyond. Character choices should be run by me during the creation process so that I can help a player integrate their desired character into the world and storyline. Characters will be built using the point-buy method. Then, after providing me with a link to their character sheet, the details will be uploaded directly to FoundryVTT.
This game already has 6 players. I am in the process of recruiting 1 new player to round it out. The game will be a campaign with roughly 3 hour sessions held weekly on Mondays starting at 7pm EST.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a working computer and mic. They will need access to D&D Beyond and will be expected to make their own character using that platform, but I am available to help newer players navigate the process if they need guidance. Likewise, players will need a Discord account, for our game uses Discord for voice and FoundryVTT as our tabletop. A link to our Foundry server will be provided via Discord.
What Dave brings to the table
I will bring detailed, carefully-crafted FoundryVTT campaigns complete with soundtracks, digital maps, and automated macros. Most importantly, I will bring well prepared adventures, years of experience, and my passion for storytelling using this medium.
