About the adventure

Campaign - High fantasy setting The land of Elesia was once ruled by Dragons, beasts, and the great titans. Then, hundred of years ago, when resources ran scarce in their homeland, a fleet of ships sailed to these shores to make a better life for themselves. Finding that great power was hidden within the hearts of these great beasts, mages new to this land hunted and battled agains the dragons and titans until they were either extinct, or forced into hiding. With the giants and serpents of lore fadding into stories and myths, the new people to this land could only make war with one another. for more watch this video: https://youtu.be/vYsYoGS2t-Q We begin in the Crimson Empire, in the capitol city of Lazuran. Today is the great festival honoring the Emperor, and the day he ended the war with the Murradi kingdom to the east. People of all races and walks of life travel from all across the Elesian continent to enjoy and experience the festivities. It is during this festival that each of you, for various reasons, decide to take in as viewers, or participate in a jousting tournament, what could go wrong?

About me

I got my first taste of D&D in university when a class mate ran a 4th edition game for us over 2 years. Being someone who always lived in my own imagination, it was such a joy for me and I became obsessed with this form of collective story telling. I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons since 2011, and I've been a DM since September 2020. In that time I've run and finished a 2 year- 6 player campaign, I'm currently still running multiple in-person, and online games ranging from 3 players to 7. I've also run many, many one shots and I love the short story adventure format. As a writer, and an artist, I love creative mediums and immersive story telling. Dungeons and Dragons is a huge part of my life, and a huge passion for me, and I'm excited to share that with new people! :)

Character creation

Creating your character

- I would like player characters to be created ahead of time if possible - Please make them on D&D Beyond, and join campaign link once provided - Players can use all officially licensed wizards content for characters - Please start player characters at level 1 - Players may add one uncommon magic item to their character - Make your characters milestone please

The current party

Looking to play every other week, or at least once a month based on everyones availability. Im very flexible with scheduling sessions, whatever the group decides on together. Id like to get the first session in before the christmas break so that we have time to work out backstroy and discuss the campaign over the holidays. For more information about this campaign, watch a short video I posted about it on my Youtube channel: https://youtu.be/vYsYoGS2t-Q

What to expect

Preparing for the session

- I prefer everything being digital for ease and for fairness. Please have accounts on both roll 20, and d&d beyond - Have a microphone please, I prefer using discord to chat during games, video isn't required for those not comfortable with it, but speaking to each other at least is necessary. - Character sheets will be digital on d&d beyond, and all dice rolls will be made either in d&d beyond or in roll 20 so physical dice not needed. - If players can send me some art for their characters i will make them a character token for roll 20. If i do not recieve the art at least 4 hours before game start, you may need to use a generic token until the next game when i have time to make it.

What Red Beards Workshop brings to the table

- I absolutely love rolplaying and voice acting for the various NPC's i have created, so look for some interesting characters to interact with. - I like to write an interesting/entertaining campaign, but one of the things i love is character growth and altering the stroy to allow the player characters, and their journey to shine! - I have some premade characters available if youre new to d&d.

Safety

How Red Beards Workshop creates a safe table

For campaigns I would prefer to do session 0s with all players, both to discuss expectations on both sides, and to work out player character backstory (my favorite) I ask that my players use D&D beyond campaign links to create their players, that they use either point buy or standard array to keep things balanced and fair for everyone, and that all rolls are made online. I like to keep things light and fun, however there are some more serious aspects of stories that can be interpreted negatively by certain people depending on their experiences. For example, traveling in the woods and your party is attacked by an animal, being a fantasy game, most players may have no issue fighting it, but someone against animal abuse may take issue. D&D and all TTRPG should be fun for everyone so if there are specific Lines and veils you would like to be avoided please reach out and I will do my best to accommodate and/or discuss.
