About the adventure
You wander lost through the fog for an eternity before emerging on the edge of a dark town. Grasping tendrils of mist swirl about you like foul tentacles as you step onto the worn muddy paving stones of the street. Ancient groaning houses with molding roofs greet you with their empty stares. The only sound you hear is the prattle of rain and the plashing of your footsteps. You can feel eyes watching your trespass from behind dark boarded up windows as you pass. The center of town yields a damp tavern with a broken hanging sign that reads "blood of the vine". Light and the soft sounds of conversation spill through the windows illuminating the night. You finger your sword and take a shaky breath to steady yourself before stepping inside into the light. Welcome to Curse of Strahd, a gothic horror setting filled to the brim with all manner of wretched monsters sure to make your hair stand on end. If you enjoy a more roleplay heavy dark mystery setting with ghoulish creatures then this is the campaign for you. Face your fears as you try to unravel the history of this cursed land and forge its future. Journey into the mists of Barovia and discover what goes bump in the night. Please note this Curse of Strahd game has been significantly changed from the base module and has been revamped. The core concept is the same but many details, characters, and adventures have been changed or completely replaced to make for a new experience. This game features: -Gothic horror themes -Vampires, zombies, werwolves, and more -Character driven story -low technology level -Dreary landscapes (no need to pack sunscreen!)

Meet the Game Master
About me
Warm welcomes from a musher/trail crew leader traveling the world! From guiding teams of dogs in the northernmost town in the world where polar bears are a daily threat, to leading crews on some of the most remote trails in the United States, I have run games in some odd locations and have developed my own unique style of storytelling. I got my start as game master in an old ranger station off grid in the Payette National forest running games for my crew. A fun way to kill time quickly turned into an obsession and now I run games whenever time lets me. Tabletop gaming has always been an important part of my life and I love how it brings friends and family together. When my schedule allows I will travel to conventions such as Gencon and Youmacon to run games and to try out new rpgs. I am most experienced with Dungeons and Dragons 5e, Vaesen, Alien RPG, Mutant Year Zero, City of Mist, Vast Grimm, and Mork Borg. I have recently picked up Avatar Legends, Achtung Cthulhu, Death in Space, Tales from the Loop, The One Ring 2nd edition, and Big Eyes Small Mouth. My absolute favorite games to run are all of the Borg hacks, Alien RPG, City of Mist, and of course DnD. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about games, want to know what life is like in the arctic, or just want to see pictures of dogs.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen either at the session 0 if you want to discuss backstory or you can create characters on your own. All published content is allowed with some small exceptions and homebrew content is allowed pending my review and approval.
Meeting on Wednesdays. Time is a flexible up to two hours. Planning on holding session 0 on the 26th.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Access to a copy of the players handbook and discord is necessary. I have a dice bot set up in discord you can use but physical dice are always nice to have.
What Casey brings to the table
I will bring maps, battle maps, dice, and of course the Curse of Strahd module. I have a Dndbeyond account with most of the character creation books that will be shared with the campaign for players to use.

How Casey creates a safe table
Curse of Strahd is a darker setting that can contain some darker themes. That being said I am open to changing any aspect of the game if it is upsetting to players. Feel free to talk to me about any concerns before the game or even once we have started.
