Iron Gods | High-Level Start | Science Fantasy
Pathfinder 2e | Campaign
About the adventure
Long ago, the land of Numeria was blessed - some say cursed - by a shower of stars from distant reaches of the cosmos. In the aftermath, strange technological caches were buried all across Numeria. The people of this land took to unearthing them and profiting from the strange wonders they contained. Now the Technic League, an organization of spellcasters and mad scientists, seeks to extend its control over all the nation. But they are not the greatest threat Numeria faces. No, something else stirs within the remnants of ancient machina. The Iron Gods make ready to conquer the world, and only you can stop them. Now you just have to figure out what this button does . . . Iron Gods is an adventure path that I've retooled for Pathfinder's 2e, featuring a genre clash between Conan the Barbarian-esque low fantasy and sci-fi. Characters in Numeria are equally equipped with mighty greatswords and laser pistols, eldritch tomes and power converters. This campaign is all about exploring the rich wilds of Numeria, delving deep into the mysterious high-tech ruins scattered across the country, and slowly unearthing a plot of metaphysical domination. Player characters ascend from mere adventurers to experts in the greater cosmos and key actors in the fate of Numeria as a whole. Prepare for a battle like you've never before seen!

You! Yes you!! I see you scrolling through these reviews. I relate with you double checkin, making sure you're about to pick the best possible GM for the wild and wacky ttrpg adventures you want to go on. Well celebrations are in order for you my friend, because you found him! I've been gaming with Brayden for 15 sessions now, and I've been playing in ttrpgs for over 20 years, and I'm not lying when I say I've had the best damn games at his table. Every single one of them has been memorable. Brayden is fantastic at immersing you into the world, creating tough and interesting social conflicts as well as combat scenarios, and sculpting compelling NPCs. He is quick on his feet when someone does something unexpected, and he appreciates the rule of cool which is a big win for me. Brayden also hosts a discord with a vibrant and colorful community, so not only are you going to have the best ttrpg sessions, you're going to make some friends in that discord and you can't put a price on that. Do yourself a favor and stop reading this already and book this man!
The way Brayden sets the mood is like watching art being created in front of your eyes. He's truly the most impressive DM I've ever played with and it took me no time to get hooked in the story. He's very careful providing maps for visual aid as well choosing the perfect song for every scene. Every character has a unique voice and he doesn't hold back when acting their personalities which creates great role-playing moments. I definitely recommend him if you're looking for an immersive game that feels just like you're the hero of an adventure movie.
I've just finished my 4th session with Brayden and to say the least it has been incredible! His storytelling through delivery, scene setting, voices and soundscapes is a highlight in it's own right, but it's a well delivered skill set that extends to the way characters are introduced, combat highs and all the other bits that makes TTRPG play special. Couldn't recommend enough!

How to prepare
Players are not required to learn the Pathfinder 2e system beforehand but a quick glance at the rulebook cannot hurt. In addition, they should ensure they have a Discord account and a Google Chrome browser to run our virtual tabletop on.
What I provide
I will bring the Iron Gods adventure path, the Foundry virtual tabletop, a decade of tabletop RPG experience and a wild amount of enthusiasm for a premise that amounts to "Conan vs Robots"
Gameplay details
CW: this campaign features themes of body horror, psychological horror, cosmic horror, and mind-altering substances. Numeria is filled with weird and wonderful things to discover, but there's also an element of uncertain doom to be found at all corners. Lobotomies, poisoning, addiction, mental illness and self-harm are discussed throughout the adventure path. Please come prepared to discuss any triggering content you'd prefer not to discuss within the adventure. Players can expect a fair amount of old-school dungeon crawling and more open-ended sandbox exploration of Numeria throughout the campaign. Delving into weird technological ruins is a prominent theme throughout the campaign, but I have a preference for getting to know characters and exploring their personal storylines as well. The campaign does have a structured plot to follow, but deviations from that norm are totally acceptable and can be explored per player interest.
