About the adventure
Prepare for the adventure of two lifetimes! The ultimate challenge has finally arrived...a mammoth dungeon unlike any other! And leaving the dungeon to take a well-earned rest in the city has never felt like this before: enter a city of depth, a city of intrigue,...a city of danger! You thought you had it hard dealing with nasty creatures living in the dark? Wait until you see what you encounter on these sunny streets! It's the city you might never want to leave ― or maybe you'll just be lost forever in its labyrinthine web. This is The World's Largest Campaign ― as in a mashup of The World's Largest Dungeon and The World's Largest City adventure modules from AEG, but with a twist: the game world is inside of a video game where you win or you die. It is a massive self-aware fantasy setting. You will have to contend with rival adventuring parties, outsmart adversarial AI, and figure out how to beat the system. Do you have what it takes to clear the game and win back your freedom?

About me
Years ago, when I was working on my psychology degree, I went to a campus gamer meetup to try to find people to play cards with, but I said "Sure, I'll try this Dungeons and Dragons thing." I rolled an Elf Ranger that day, one of my favorite all time characters. Pretty soon I was buying RPG books and making my own worlds from scratch. One little decision can lead to a lifetime of fun.

Creating your character
New characters currently join at at 12th level, 32 point buy, with generic starter gear. Characters should be fully created before the start of your first session; otherwise, there are pregens available. Use of the internal character sheet in Roll20 is optional.
Campaign is every other Friday. Party is level 12 now. So far we have a Dwarf Psychic Warrior, a Human Mystic Ranger/Crusader, a Human Archivist, a Lesser Aasimar Cleric/Rogue, a Gnome Wizard and sometimes a Human Swashbuckler sidekick.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a mic as well as Roll20 and Discord accounts. A webcam is recommended. You will receive a text file with full character creation guidelines and house rules before your first session.
What Scott V brings to the table
I will have the adventure prepared in Roll20 and all of the 3.5 D&D books available for reference. Tokens and portraits will be provided if you don't already have something picked out. Most locations will have a sound track and most NPCs will have a distinct voice. In the city you will find the ultimate open-ended RPG sandbox presented by a DM that isn't afraid to improvise. When you head to the dungeon there will be intense tactical combats that try to follow the Rules as Written (and you will be provided with a list of house rules/rulings where we deviate.)
Homebrew rules
Group initiative, luck rolls, custom magic item research, lower default selling prices, no tracking encumbrance, no diagonal 5 foot step, critical failures, caps on metamagic, limits on minionmancy, milestone leveling, resurrection and teleportation magic are nerfed, no evil player characters, some rules imported from Pathfinder 1e (Druid Wild Shape, concentration DCs, Dodge feat, handwraps, incorporeality, nonlethal damage conversion, polymorph spells, Hideous Laughter, Mirror Image, Fire Storm, etc), various rulings/fixes where the rules as written are broken.

How Scott V creates a safe table
Since the campaign is ongoing, most session zero topics will be covered asynchronously via discord. We usually take a 5 or so minute break somewhere near the halfway point of the session, though you can certainly step away whenever you need to. The gameplay is a player-driven and will shift back and forth between a dungeon crawl exploration setting and a social urban setting at will. Content will be more or less PG-13.
