Thomas was great at allowing us to explore and make wild inadvisable plans, while still keeping our adventure moving and holding us to the consequences of our actions. It worked really well in our theater of the mind game filled with diplomatic and political complications. He was very good at building and running complicated and engaging social encounters, and knew the system (Star Trek Adventures) well. Although ours was just a one shot, I get the feeling Thomas would be great at running extended campaigns. He'd constructed an adventure with a lot of complexity to dig into, and there were NPCs and plotlines that I just wish we'd been able to go back and learn more about.
