The setting was creative, but the 'space pirate' theme didn't quite land—it felt more like commercial travel than outlaw life. We built non-combat characters together at the start, but were then dropped into an extremely lethal battle we weren't prepared for. I wish we’d had a heads-up during creation that the session would be so combat-heavy!
I had a blast trying out Dragonbane for the first time! The GM has a great handle on the rules and is a pro at Foundry VTT, making for a seamless experience. I especially appreciated the pacing - he did an excellent job keeping the story moving and balancing investigation with combat. A perfect, high-energy one-shot for anyone looking to learn the system!
I had a fun time overall getting to experience the new Cosmere RPG system and the Bridge Nine adventure. It was great to see the setting come to life on the VTT, and playing through the final climactic battle was a highlight of the session. The game did move at a very cautious pace and ended up taking about 5 hours, which felt a bit long for the content covered, largely due to frequent dice rolls and some persistent audio issues with the GM's microphone. Even with those hurdles, it was a good experience and a nice way to spend an afternoon seeing how the new mechanics work in practice.
