Ryan has been my DM for a couple of years now. I've played in a few irl campaigns with him, playing very different characters and experiencing very different overall story tones in each one. He does an amazing job really drawing you into the narrative, and is great at improvising on the fly. My previous few parties were constantly getting up to crazy shenanigans no one could've foreseen, but he was always ready with an answer that kept the story going. He's also been super open to homebrew (within reason, of course), and also willing to let the players really drive the narrative, even if it does go waaaay off the beaten path, lol. He's also really encouraging of people exploring their own emotions and internal feelings through characters, be it gender identity, personal struggles, or just needing a place to pour yourself into a fictional world. He brings a fun, welcoming vibe to the table that's been almost therapeutic.
