I've been playing 5.5e with Eloy for almost two months now, and let me tell you he is a gem! Eloy makes it very easy to create a character who is tailored to his campaigns because he gives so much background and context before and during Session 0. The context keeps coming after that; multiple times I have asked questions about the state of the world, usually about cultural or sociological aspects, and been given reams of information that make immersion effortless on my end. He also has really followed through on his players' playstyle desires. My group wanted heavy roleplay and light combat; we're six sessions in and have had 1.5 battles. Additionally, he is an excellent GM for players who like to engage with the game outside of the sessions. I've never before been given the actual text of several nefarious letters between individuals and essentially told, "get what you can out of them!" I also spent a very happy hour scouring a map to figure out where a bunch of military and espionage maneuvers were happening. While none of this "homework" felt required, it definitely adds greatly to my experience of the sessions themselves. Eloy is my first and only GM on StartPlaying. I highly recommend him to players who want deep and consistent worldbuilding, a GM who rewards extra-session engagement, and pays a lot of attention to his players' preferred styles of play.
