I really play around the “rule of cool” and love flavoring my character, and Reno absolutely lets me and everyone else do all that fun stuff — it’s honestly amazing. The story, roleplay, and combat are all well-paced and naturally integrated. One thing I especially love is the “Hearthfire Stories” we do every one or two sessions. They usually happen during short or long rests and give each player a spotlight moment to share about their character or roleplay in ways they might not feel comfortable doing during travel or combat. It’s such a great way for players to prep or build up their moments — reading letters or books, interacting with the environment or other players, reminiscing about the past, or showing growth like learning a new spell or move as they level up. It’s honestly such an amazing idea, especially for newcomers to D&D who might shy away from improv roleplay.
