I play a weekly Curse of Strahd game with Kayla (Michaela) as the GM, and have always felt super lucky to have gotten such a fun, welcoming table and GM. My favorite thing about Kayla is how clearly her love and passion for the game shines through every aspect of a given session. She puts genuine thought into whatever she runs, whether that be working with you to create the character and journey you want, setting the mood through audio-visual tools, or challenging you at your particular skill level in combat. She's always trying to add new, fun things to her campaigns - whether they be homebrew feats, spells or mechanics, I've never gotten bored. More than anything, though, there's a sense of genuine care you get from her in her narration and roleplay: for the story, the world, and its characters. It makes you care about it all, too. As someone with not a lot of free time due to a relatively demanding work/study schedule, I value any free time I do have very highly. I'm sure you do, too. I think the biggest compliment I can give is that I've never once regretted using my limited free time for our campaign. To be honest, whenever our sessions finish, it always feels too soon no matter how long we've played for. And my first thought is always that I can't wait to pick things back up again next week. The whole table contributes to that feeling, of course, but I'm sure we all know that the linchpin of a great table is a great GM. If you do see a game she's running and you're interested in it, all I can say is that you should take the plunge. I'm positive that you'll be as glad as I am that I did.
