Outstanding ability to create a world that feels lived in, and then seamlessly slotting your character in as if they've always been there. Combat encounters are tough and tense, but fair and oh so rewarding when you beat them. The collective scream of triumph from the party after we finally beat the werewolf/spirit/barbarian after an intense 3 hour encounter was something else. I usually find it difficult to get into role playing but the narrative and worldbuilding Josh has done in our sessions helps so much. He finds time to make sure every player in the session gets to say their piece, touch on their backstory, interact with the world and the people he has created in it. It's honestly incredibly helpful, and I've gotten more comfortable rping the more I've played with him. He's incredibly knowledgeable about the rules, but if it's cool enough or you're convincing enough, he'll allow it, which is something I wish more Dm's would allow. D&D and other ttrpgs are inherently about creativity and players solving problems, or creating them, with creative uses of moonbeam should be encouraged. Every game I've played with him I've enjoyed, whether its a one shot, a small module or the longer campaign I'm currently in, and I look foward to playing more in the future.
