I found Daniel on Discord where I was looking for someone to run a homebrew sandbox in a similar style as Critical Role that is mostly focused on character based rp. I love heavy character backstories and exploring them together as a party, and that can be difficult to find players who are as deep into lore as I am. Daniel offered to run one for me and we found other players. We are 11 sessions in, and it is the game I look forward to the most in my week. He is flexible and devoted to giving the experience you're looking for.
This wasn't my first experience with D&D or with GMs on StartPlaying but I was genuinely surprised at this one. We just finished our first session and let me tell you, it was 10 out of 10 storytelling. I was really surprised at how much effort he put in to make it a cinematic experience. Not only that but multiple times before session I brought up requests for homebrews and he was willing to work with me to create a balanced experience that was what I was looking for.
Shevek has allowed a lot of customizing within my character and abilities, as long as it remains balanced, and that's helped my enjoyment of the campaign. I mesh really well with my table. Their first concern is if I'm uncomfortable and having fun, and if there's anything that could make it better. This is my first major campaign and I look forward to it every week.
