Jareth is a sweetheart. I’m new to TTRPGs, and he’s been so gracious as I’m learning. I’m a quite neuro spicy, and that was a major concern of mine since TTRPGs Depends so much on personality of PCs. He’s very chill, accommodating, and relentlessly positive. Beginner friendly: He’s willing to explain anything instead of leaving it to players to figure out. We play in Roll20/Discord, and anytime I’ve had trouble navigating, he gets hands on about it. It’s reassuring that my character sheet isn’t broken, and we keep the game on pace. GM Highlight: One session in particular when I was quite confused and frustrated with my party. We spoke about it 1-on-1, and I’m not sure what he did offline, But it was apparent in the next session that accommodations or conversations were had to adjust. I felt seen and valued. & I’m still excited to be learning this game. Creativity/Improv: As a new player, the advice he gave me was to focus on the narrative rather than the game mechanics. Following that I wrote an unnecessarily long backstory to give myself material to draw on . He’s really funny and great at narrating the dice rolls. I’ve gotten most character development out of Nat 1’s thanks to his quick thinking to justify failed checks with story telling. It’s a helpful reminder that you can’t lose a TTRPG; the story is endgame, and great narration keeps me “in it.”
