I've been playing at Odysseas's table for a little over 4 years now, and I've enjoyed every moment of it. I originally joined his table because his Monster Hunter campaign sounded quite promising. But I stayed because of everything he did for it. Tons of world building influenced by the source material but also his own ideas and lore that makes the world feel alive without requiring the player characters to exist. A story that still feels fresh 4 years down the line with unexpected turns and clear build up. Combat against in-depth custom made monsters using custom made weaponry and equipment. Sessions without combat that still are at least as enjoyable as the ones with combat, if not better. Plans what the session could be, but allows players to choose what to do or where to go. If you have ideas, you can talk about those ideas with him to see what could be done with them like wanting to change choices of your class or adding new lore to your character that could influence the world. You'll have to really enjoy role playing and be prepared for combat if you want to enjoy your time at Odysseas's table. But if you recognize yourself in that, then you have certainly struck gold with this DM. I know I have.
