I was fairly new to DND when I first started playing with James as my DM. Throughout the campaign, he was consistently patient and resourceful with all my inquiries, even if I asked the same silly questions over and over. His understanding of the game mechanics and lore are incredibly useful to novices and veterans alike, and I was very comfortable being a beginner under his wing. On top of that, he does not shy away from giving every one of his NPCs a well-rounded persona and custom voice that he can seamlessly equip at a moment's notice. He takes the bits of my character's backstory and considerately makes them better without making me feel like he's taking too many liberties with altering my ideas. I think I have been rarely blessed to have such an incredible DM as one of my first, and that I'll be hard-pressed to find another as good as James.
