When I reached out to Bear on StartPlaying about joining one of his campaigns, I have to admit I was pretty nervous. It was my first time diving into a game with a group of people I didn’t know at all, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Let me tell you, Bear completely exceeded my expectations and saying he went above and beyond feels like an understatement. From the start, Bear was incredibly welcoming and friendly. He took the time to walk me through his world, explaining the setting and lore with patience and enthusiasm. He guided me through character creation, introduced me to some fantastic homebrew content, and made sure I felt comfortable and excited about the game. His campaigns are an amazing mix of intense combat and roleplay that can be both hilarious and gut-wrenching. His worlds are detailed and thoughtfully constructed, so every choice you make feels significant and impactful. The sense of consequence and depth in his games feels real, and it keeps you fully engaged. What really stands out, though, is the community Bear has built around his games. It’s an inclusive, supportive group that made me feel right at home, even after just two sessions. It’s like I had been playing with them for ages. If you’re considering joining one of Bear’s games, I promise you won’t regret it. The experience is well worth it, and you’ll find yourself part of a great community and an even greater adventure.
