Johnny was my first GM when I started playing DND two years ago, and while I have joined and left other games with other GMs since then, I am still actively participating in Johnny’s games to this day because his abilities as a GM exceed all expectations and other experiences. That Johnny is incredibly passionate about the roleplaying experience is evidenced in all areas of how he runs a game. His creativity, worldbuilding, character/voice acting, and flexibility are all unmatched, as is his patience in working with new players to ensure they don’t just learn the game but love the game. I especially appreciate his attention to world and character development that make not only the NPCs and game world but also the player characters feel like real, fleshed out beings and important elements of the collaborative story. If you have a backstory, Johnny will masterfully weave it into the narrative of the game, paying mind to the narrative motifs and overall story arcs they contribute to. A typical session with Johnny will begin with a brief check-in with players, followed by a story recap before jumping back into where things left off last time. At the end of the session, Johnny always leaves room for a brief check-in with all players, providing an opportunity to give feedback. I have experienced a very even balance of challenging yet fair combat and immersive roleplay where creativity and commitment always feels rewarded, often in unexpected yet fun ways. Character choices always feel impactful and consequential. NPC interactions and combat situations never feel repetitive or boring as he is always finding new ways to be inventive and allow players to be creative in how they approach any type of situation. This is aided by great atmosphere/mood setting including fantastic visual aids and appropriate music selection that can build tension or otherwise help immerse players in the setting. Overall, I cannot recommend Johnny enough for players old and new. 10/10 – sign up for one of his games and know you will have a great time!

Xero is a phenomenal DM. I have been participating in his games almost every week for the last 6 months. He does a fantastic job of worldbuilding and really cares about each player’s characters and motivations. Sessions are always exciting, fun, and just the right amount of a challenge. Each session flies by. Xero injects each of his characters with a unique personality and realism which makes interacting with NPCs a lot of fun. Visuals are always fantastic, and the sessions are consistently a good time. He allows the world to react to player choices and character’s actions in a way that feels organic and interesting. I look forward to coming back every week!
