I've played RPGs with Mab going back a long time - across many sessions and characters - and I would strongly recommend his games for new or experienced players alike. Mab's style provides plenty of room for characters to interact and for the group to decide the direction of the campaign. He rewards engagement and proactive characters, but also works hard to communicate with players above the table to make sure everyone has fun. He shows excellent patience and generosity with new players and works hard to make people feel comfortable through a non-confrontational approach, which provides a foundation for strong player connections. He has passion for depth and continuity in worldbuilding and has invested lots of time building stories and player communities across both published and original settings. His broad expertise with game systems keeps gameplay flowing and enables him to support players figuring out mechanics. His game sessions benefit from well balanced encounters and story continuity, and he provides a high degree of freedom for players to build the characters and stories they want to explore. Mab's table is a welcoming and fun RPG environment and I'm always excited to return to it.
