Lucas was an outstanding Narrator (GM) for TWDU Season 2. He consistently prioritized player agency, allowing our choices to meaningfully shape the story while maintaining a strong narrative flow. Just as importantly, he fostered a safe, inclusive, and respectful role-play environment where everyone felt welcome and heard. I genuinely have nothing negative to say—Lucas set a high standard for immersive, player-focused storytelling.
I recently had the pleasure of participating in a **Walking Dead Universe** RPG campaign set in present-day Rockport, Massachusetts, run by the GM Eric who is very knowledgeable about the system. Here are some highlights of my experience: 1. **Adaptability and Engagement**: Eric demonstrated an exceptional ability to adapt the game to my level of participation. He ensured I got my money's worth, and I could tell that there was even more potential had I been able to invest more. His flexibility made the game feel personalized and responsive, which is a rare and valuable trait in a GM. 2. **Deep Knowledge and Passion**: Eric's knowledge of the TWDU RPG was truly impressive. He provided a rich and immersive gaming world that perfectly satiated my desperation to play the system. His understanding of the game's mechanics and lore added a depth that enhanced the entire experience. It was clear he was passionate about the game when we had more players, and that enthusiasm encourage player participation. 3. **Superior Experience Compared to AI**: Having played games run by AI, I can confidently say that Eric's GM style is far superior. His ability to create dynamic scenarios and provide thoughtful, human interaction brought a level of engagement and excitement that AI simply cannot replicate. While I was the only player for most of the campaign, which did affect the overall dynamism, Eric did his best to keep the experience engaging. I also learned through this campaign that I do not enjoy playing a leader type, and Eric was supportive and understanding throughout this realization. The one area I recognize needing improvement on my part was communication—I should have communicated more with Eric to enhance the experience even further. Overall, I highly recommend Eric as a GM for anyone looking to dive into the TWDU RPG. His adaptability, deep knowledge, and engaging style make for a memorable and satisfying gaming experience.
