I've had the pleasure of playing with Shade (as I call him) for many years—first when he was a co-DM, and later as the lead DM for a multi-year, full level 1–20 journey. Boss fights are tough, creative, and memorable—but there’s never any question that he’s on the players’ side. He encourages out-of-the-box thinking and genuinely supports flavorful character choices, even if they don’t fit neatly into optimal builds. Every character I’ve seen at his table has had the opportunity to shine, with personal story arcs that are woven into the main plot rather than feeling tacked on. What also stands out is his mindfulness—he avoids lazy stereotypes and actively welcomes player feedback to improve the game for everyone. Whether in person or on Discord (where we’ve played most of our games), he brings the same thoughtful preparation, generous storytelling, and all-around great energy to the table. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a character-driven, high-effort, collaborative campaign experience.
