Tom is incredibly welcoming to new players -- whether they are brand new to TTRPGs, or simply new to a given system (Pathfinder 2e in my case). From the start it was clear he was adept at fostering a community space in which everyone could participate on an equal footing, without feeling intimidated by those with more experience or more forceful personalities. One of the key differentiators I noticed with Tom's style is an adherence to the "Firm but Fair" doctrine: he's committed to teaching the rules, enforcing the rules, and giving everyone an authentic challenge within the constraints of the rule set. Personally, this style resonated greatly with me. Had a great experience and look forward to playing again with Tom! Highly recommended.
