Despite the fact his games are fun, Jolly's reliability as a Dungeon Master leaves much to be desired when it comes to consistently attending our campaign sessions. Last week, his Foundry VTT technical issues when we could not connect to his PC that was hosting the game, hindering our session. Despite my suggestion to resort to theatre of the mind and use D&D Beyond for rolling, he dismissed the idea without any room for discussion. Another proposal of mine, to have him stream the game through Discord for controlling our tokens, was outright ignored. In this week's session, we unfortunately had three players drop out, a situation that could have been mitigated by Jolly utilizing DM PCs(controversial as they are) as he had done before when our group was smaller. There were indications that the session would proceed as planned based on Jolly's assurance following the cancellation last week. He had promised that the technical issues would be resolved due to him moving and even elevated us by 4 levels in anticipation of the upcoming game. He even tested the game this week and said his game was working and was ready to play for us tonight. The prospect of playing alongside my companions is always exciting, and Jolly's skills as a DM are commendable. However, a sense of disappointment set in when, at the eleventh hour, a sudden 'power outage' disrupted our plans this week. Regrettably, he was unable to restore power and abruptly and prematurely cancelled the campaign due to 'circumstances'. This turn of events left me frustrated, particularly considering the substantial investment I've made for these sessions, and the lack of commitment from the DMs who fail to uphold their end of the bargain by consistently participating in the sessions. I would find someone else.
