I've run and played in games from more traditional DnD type games to newer more narrative focused games, and I find Daggerheart to be a perfect blend of the two. It's become my main, most played game since it came out, and I've been really enjoying running it. The mechanics are complex enough to have a good amount of customization, but that complexity is shifted in a way that makes more narrative sense compared to other crunchy games. The action moments have been the most cinematic and smooth flowing action scenes I've experienced in a TTRPG. I've also found the game really fun to homebrew for, and have really appreciated the tools for that made by the devs and the community as well as the devs being really open about explaining their design philosophy. The Duality Dice system is also a brilliant iteration on the PbtA/FitD dice systems, allowing for different levels of success/failure and making sure every roll pushes the story forward. Highly recommend!
