I'd like to start by saying that, before yesterday, I had only played DnD twice at my local game shop. So to have my third game, and first step into an actual campaign, online was a bit daunting. Combine that with my relative inexperience, I was quite nervous, even during our Session 0. However, Terra was great at making me feel at ease while answering my questions and giving me insight while I made my character and incorporated campaign elements into his backstory. All of that ease and comfort went right out the door within the first five minutes of our campaign starting and I mean that in the best way possible. Terra started our group's story with my character having a nightmare. The way she combined the music, scenery descriptions and the elements of my character's backstory gave me goosebumps. The music was perfect, I could actually hear the rain she was describing and the serene audio of the park she was describing. The shift shift in scenery was done very well, helping me really feel like I was my character in this strange yet familiar place, experiencing this dream-turned-nightmare. The questions she asked during this sequence helped me answer questions about my character I hadn't considered before. This only helped further integrate me into the story and helped with fleshing him out more, which I thoroughly appreciated. She's great at leaving moments open for the characters to interact with one another and create a foundation for these interactions. One of these moments opened up an opportunity for two characters to acknowledge a similar goal, share some drinks, and even have comedic moments that didn't feel forced or out-of-place at all. I can't recommend Terra enough as a newcomer to DnD and I imagine that as my experience in this wonderful world grows, Terra will be my basis for what a great DM should do.
